Haiti faces numerous challenges in its agricultural sector, including extreme poverty, high unemployment rates, and limited access to resources and markets. However, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is working to address these issues through its strategy and activities in Haiti. USAID focuses on increasing farmers‘ incomes, improving food security, developing productive value chains for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and fostering public-private partnerships. The agency has achieved significant accomplishments, including increased agricultural yields and incomes, mobilizing diaspora investment and know-how, strengthening and expanding MSMEs, providing loan guarantees, and leveraging private sector resources. Through these efforts, USAID aims to promote sustainable economic growth and agricultural development in Haiti.
